Hi I'm gd im the paladin. I use 2 buttons to heal. LOL ezmode!
or?
Sometimes people ask me what we do nowadays in Nihilum. Well we only raid 2 days a week for a few hours. That's it. Between these raids, I level my druid. It's lvl 64 as I write this. When I ding 70 I'm going to spec resto and do a lot of arenas and BGs with it. Not because I want gear or anything, but because I actually love to heal in PvP! I find it really interesting and extremely intense when you face good teams. One might ask though, since I've already got a holy paladin, why do I bother with a druid alt ?
Well first of all, don't get me wrong, a holy paladin can do some good healing in pvp. They don't suck. They are very good in BGs and in 5on5.
But in 2on2 and 3on3 however it's a different story. In 2on2 and 3on3 you will be the only healer. And as such, you can't afford not to be able to heal your teammates.
Sure a paladin has holy shock wich heals about the same as a flashheal but for more than twice the manacost. But it's on a 15 sec cd. A paladin needs to stand still for 1.5 to 2.5 sec without getting interupted in any way, no fear, no pummel, no kidneyshot, no blind, no silence, no curse of tounges etc etc etc. You know how often that happens in 3on3 for example ? Well, ofc against less experienced teams (noobs!) you often get a chance to freely heal, but if we're talking about the top teams, and we arent even in a good battlegroup, then you can be sure they got you on focus target and time their CC on you perfectly.
Gief lifebloom!!!
So i was on the TTR, Tournament Test Realm the other night. Picked a restodruid. Did some games. I mean it was my first time doing arenas as resto but damn it felt good. It was fun! You could keep people alive without panicking cause they go LOS, because you got your HOTs ticking on them. You could CC in so many ways. It's incredible. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying "nerf druids", I'm saying "buff paladins". And to be precise, buff holy paladins in pvp.
On a sidenote, at least it looks like retpalas are finally good now in arenas, at least in some 3on3 combos. Good for them!
Well these are my thoughts for today. Also the paladinguide I've written together with Gaap is out, please feel free to check it out! So anyway, I'll leave you with a short videoclip of a couple of things that happened since last column. Nothing fancy. Actually it's more of a display of what boredom can make me do. So watch it at your own risk! The song is nice.
As my columns are now bi-weekly, aka once every 2 weeks, I'll see you next time in 2 weeks. How many bosses will be down in Sunwell by then? Is any gate open? No doubt I'll write about Sunwell next column. See you then!
one thing i must know GD.
Do you use clique.
Personally....i tried it and hated it.
I think i heal fine with out it.
and how many of the other pallys use it if any at all?

#9: No i dont use clique, i use either manual targeting and heal with keybindings, or use a mouseover macro. manual targeting is what i use most.
I don't know if the other paladins use clique they have to answer that.
Interesting, #9, why you asking about CLique? You just think that those people who using that add can be called noobs or what? Why i say that? Because i see it from your post somehow i suppose.
I'am using Clique, because it save a lot of time sometimes and can help as much as its possible.
Also i know that Awake used Clique as well and he was a very good paladin healer etc So why dont use addons that can help to heal more and can help to heal better then you can without this addon.
p.s. I'am not talking about spam healing at all if someone wanna tell me about it already.
Indeed druids are really awesome to play nowadays in arena. I leveled one and spent a lot of time gearing him up, I'm on 300 resilience 1400+ healing atm. I played 3v3 this week with dreadlol in my point boosting team at 1950 rating I ended up going 2-4 with my paladin and 5-2 with my undergeared druid, it really surprised me. Paladins are way too easy to control since they rely only on their cast heals to keep someone alive and only way to avoid the CCs are hammer of resist or LOS needless to say that LOS doesn't work forever and I won't count Sacrifice which is instantly dispelled.
Retri paladins are good in 3v3 yeh but they also go oom really fast if the game goes on too long (3mins+), they rely on killing someone extremely fast and a good RMP setup will just outlast a retri pala team.
I've said it before. I would give up "bubble" any day for mana burn, shields, pain suppresion, HoT's etc etc...
The problem is & will always be... we got that cursed bubble. In some situations it's a blessing, BG's a 5v5 mainly. In 2v2 & 3v3 it doesn't really make the difference. Thinking setups like mage/rogue in 2v2 & RPM in 3v3... the bubble will help for shit :/
Might be so that your playstyle in arena suit druids better then paladins. After 2.4 druids AREN'T that overpowered. I would actually say that all 4 healing classes have their weakness and strengths it's all about your setup and your playstyle. Paladins aren't back to s1 standard in 2v2 and 3v3 but they could actually be back in the top as the best healer, ofc not in all setups and ofcourse you have countersetups but even druids have that now when cyclone is nerfed.
The bad part is that paladins need access to pve-items from BT/Hyjal to be viable. Around 300-350 res is totally enough if you have a good playstyle with a setup and team that can benefit from a defensive playing paladin.
It normally come down to a l2p-issue
