Earlier today I joined a Magtheridon pug with one of my alts. There are still some upgrades for me in there, and I figured it would be a quick kill and a shot at some loot.
Well, I cannot really say it was a quick kill, we had a few stupid wipes because of people unable to click boxes, and a few replacements as people left or noobed out. Though the most amusing thing was what happened after we downed Magtheridon.
The raid leader, a warlock named Cappelen, started out by linking some loot. People rolled, and someone could walk away happily with a new dps cloak, a healing shield and a Defender chest.
He then linked Magtheridon's head. Two people rolled 99, and they wondered if they should reroll. So Cappelen goes 'sec, no rush' and proceeds to go AFK for around 30 minutes or so. People start getting grumpy, some players leave, others report him, several stick around to see what happens next. I was among the latter, although I felt certain that the last chest would be a Hero chest, so it is not like I needed it.
What happens next is, everyone gets booted from the raid, one by one. After we are all teleported to our hearthstone locations, Cappelen stays on for a few more minutes, then logs off.
I guess a warlock got himself a new ring and a new chest today, along with a lot of enemies. What I don't understand is why he couldn't just loot the items to himself instead of wasting people's time by going AFK and then booting us. Because I doubt anyone will think it didn't happen just because we weren't around to see him loot the items! |
