| SK Shifts Focus to PvP, PvE Departs |

SK Gaming has shifted their official World of Warcraft focus to the growing PvP arena scene as their PvE squad, responsible for a triumphant run in the final chapter of the Burning Crusade's raid content, has released themselves from the sponsorship. The guild teamed up with SK during the run through Sunwell Plateau, which culminated in the world's first defeat of Kil'Jaeden.I had a quick talk to one of the guild masters, Mekon, who had this to say about the split and the future of the guild:
Mekon: Basically it was our decision to leave SK, but we mutually agreed it was for the best. We don't really think that WoW PvE has much of a place within E-Sports, it's a completely different animal. We have a new project that will be announced very soon. It's really ambitious and we are really looking forward to announcing the details.
Is there an upset in the stability of the guild, or is it more or less a name change?
Mekon: Absolutely nothing changes within the guild, it's the same roster and structure for now.
Do your goals remain the same?
Mekon: Goals will be exactly the same - we will be aiming for number one. We just don't want to give our publicity and our effort to something we don't really have a stake in or control.
According to the main topic of the post, SK Gaming will be keeping a presence in WoW in the form of their PvP teams, both in Europe and in the US, in most of the major tournaments like the MLG series, Intel Extreme Masters, Blizzard events and others. |
