The time has come to officially announce our Arena PvP team. You've already seen them in action in the two Cyclone Arena Tournaments plus in the European Cyclone Battlegroup where they've done extremely well.
In Nihilum we love competition and strive to be the best, thats why we've recruited these talented individuals. They've already proven themselves in the Cyclone Battlegroup and we trust that they will continue to perform. I personally wish them the best of luck.
- Thomas "Kungen" Bengtsson
Guild Leader of Nihilum Mousesports MMO
The worldwide interest and effort to push World of Warcraft to eSports standards is an ongoing process we observed very intensely. With the stronger support by Blizzard and an evergrowing PvP-Community, we thought it is the perfect time to come up with our own Arena team. After doing some research we found the right players to build that team, and we are glad to announce such a promising and talented squad. Nihilum is looking forward to some interesting and thrilling competition.

Nihilum Arena
Howdy, my name is Kolja Verhage I’m the team captain. I play a dwarf priest called Phixus. I’m dutch and I’ve lived in Amsterdam my whole life. I’ve been playing WoW since the very first day of the Closed US Beta. Before WoW I never really played a game with the intention of becoming a very skilled player (always just played "for fun" and quite casual) so in that respect WoW is the first game I've played seriously.
In vanilla WoW I played in the guild Khadgar's Rage, first as a member, later as officer and occasionally raid leader. KR was a fairly high end guild, usually getting world top 10-20 first kills, we also ran the server's (and later BG's) best WSG group by far and most of us were pretty active pvp'ers in general. In TBC the guild fell apart (long story), core members of the old KR can now be found in almost every high end alliance PvE guild nowdays.
I joined Core for a short while after transferring to Stormscale with my arena team (we transferred because our old BG Conviction was quite horrid and we had started an arena migration project back then to try and create a European BG9, this project is one of the reasons why Cyclone is as popular as it is today), but since I skipped 99% of the raids because I was to busy 5v5'ing I got a "friendly" kick.
After Core I've never set another foot inside any PvE instance, and I must say I'm not missing PvE at all. I'm now completely dedicated to my arena team and I'll make sure we're going to achieve great things.
I'd like to thank Nihilum and Mousesports for the great opportunity they've given us, we will not let you down.

Night Elf Druid
|
Hi there, my name is Dave Mountford, I am 19 and currently studying at Portsmouth University in England. One of the first games I played seriously was Counter-Strike, starting around 1.2/1.3. I was clanned up until 6 months after the release of CS:S, (wasn't what it should have been ), when I really focused my gaming attention to WoW. I have played Night Elf Druid on and off since the release of WoW, stopping for a short period to play a human rogue around last Christmas. Ultimately I prefer a mixture of all specs, the PvP resto spec I use allows great freedom and multiple CC options (standard for all brackets), whilst a more balance friendly spec allows me to get some dps off when required, for example constantly dpsing pets to put the opponents healer(s) under pressure, (my prefered 2v2 spec).
I was a member of the Decimation guild on Talnivarr where we achieved several top world PvE kills including the defeat of Illidan. Whilst on the comp I enjoy arena (all brackets but especially 3v3), annoying Cherez, chatting to mates and editing fraps footage of our games xD. After a fairly successful 2v2 movie I moved here along with friends and so far have done well in the ladders of Cyclone. I hope we can further our success with Nihilum and dominate the PvP scene.

Night Elf Hunter
|
My name is Jonny ”Cherez”. I'm 19 and I come from the North-East of England. I play a Night Elf Hunter. Been playing WoW pretty much since release date, it was my first MMORPG and I got involved in WoW through a friend of mine. Before WoW I was more of a casual gamer, playing a bit of DoD/CS when I was back at school – I was also into RTS type games, SC/C&C and such. I’ve always played the hunter class and probably always will, I love it!
Prior to TBC I was a lot more involved in PvE although I was never truly motivated to succeed in WoW due to the lack of competitive PvP around at that time.
When arena’s were announced I knew they were going to be a huge hit. As soon as the 1st arena season began I played around with many different setups and generally had an amazing time. I obtained Gladiator rank in all 3 brackets in Season 1 and continued that trend into Season 2, going one better with 1st place Title. Season 3 began with me holding first place in every bracket until I was offered this great opportunity and swiftly transferred to Stormscale where Beasteh and me joined the rest of the guys.
I’m Loving all my new teammates and all the new personalities I’ve met since migrating and hope we manage to succeed in everything we aim for !

Human Warlock
|
Hello, my name is Søren, I'm 19 years old, from Denmark, and currently attending College.
WoW is my first MMORPG, which I've played since Open Beta. I've basically been raiding since the start and only just recently stopped, when I transfered to Stormscale to focus 100% on PvP. I didn't do much PvP before TBC, I was pretty much your average PvE whore. My warlock was created on Laughing Skull in September 2005, I had previously played a paladin on Ragnaros which I quickly got bored of.
I managed to get into one of the better raiding guilds on Laughing Skull, and stayed with them throughout MC-Naxx.
Shortly after TBC launched I took off to Kazzak and joined Forte, to take part in some more serious raiding.
I only did 2v2 in Season 1, due to my PvE commitment. But when Season 2 began, I really started getting interested in Arena and I played actively in all brackets. Then Season 3 hit, and we had already been farming MH and BT for quite some time and it didn't look like there was any new content coming soon, so a few weeks into Season 3 I moved to Stormscale, and quickly joined up with Phixus and Co.

Human Warrior

Hi, I am Hammee and I'm the warrior, roar. My name is Miha and I'm attending my "first" year of university, I am 20 years old. I come from a small town situated in the center of Slovenia. I started playing computer games when i was about 6 years old. And it all started off with Tetris! My online gaming "career" started about 10 years ago, with Action Quake 2. The game was the most awesome thing ever, despite being forced to play on a 28k modem with my ping exceeding 200. After getting a better connection I was in a couple of quite successful clans that could be regarded as the top in europe, such as : OwN:. After 5 years of AQ2, a friend talked me into starting CoD. Here I soon joined him in the best Slovenian clan. However it didn't last long before I left CoD behind. I was one of the lucky ones that got accepted into the WoW closed beta testing. Here I met Phixus and I've been with him ever since. He was still playing his UD female priest back then, much better then the fat dorf he is nowadays :'( . Both of us decided to go alliance when retail hit and joined up with Khadgar's rage, playing on the Burning Legion server, later Magtheridon. The guild turned out to be a really successful PvE and also PvP guild. Constantly competing with Nihilum for first kills. Sadly the guild fell apart when TBC launched and reformed into TACO (Total and complete ownage!!1) which turned out be quite the disaster, just like its name! A few months into TBC the top players from Magtheridon decided to transfer to Stormscale in search of a better pvp environment. The server turned out to be brilliant.
Hey, my name is Alan. I'm 21 and I am a french student. The first game I played online was MechWarrior4 where I met my friend Marloc, I followed him to WC3, then on Knight Online and finally to WoW where he got me into the best alliance guild on Burning Legion. In Khadgar's Rage I met Phixus and Hamme who were among the few that really pvped seriously at that time. We always competed against Nihilum in PvP and PvE up to AQ. I was always a retribution paladin before TBC. When the arena system was released I focused 100% on pvp and specced holy.Towards the end of s1 I moved to Stormscale with Hamme, Phixus, Slot and some friends for some real arena action.
Beside WoW I ski a lot since I live in the mountains and during the summer I go on the ski tracks with my motocross bike.

Draenei Shaman
|
Hello everyone! My name is Jesper, I'm Danish and 20-years-old. I study economics (3rd year) at college.
I began playing WoW in the Open Beta (EU) and when Blizzard finally released WoW, I created a human female mage on Shadow Moon where I quickly leveled to 60 among the first. I did quite a lot of PvE in the leading guild (Salvation Army), but PvP was always the part of the game that really appealed to me. I had dibs on standing 1-2 the first many weeks of the new honor system (max skill). Later on, I migrated to Magtheridon with the rest of my guild.
With the launch of TBC I figured I'd try out a shaman. So I did the necessary preparations and leveled to 70 as the 2nd shaman on alliance side (~8 days in game). I played season 1 with an enhancement spec and actually liked it, although it's not the optimal choice for PvP. So as season 2 began I figured I'd be better off respeccing to elemental and migrating to Stormscale as well, for more competitive and active PvP. I played in some different teams during season 2, went a bit up and down, evolved my 5v5 and elemental shaman skills and managed to finish in the top 0,5%. Dread and I teamed up with the Hammee, Heerø and Phixus almost at the start of season 3 and it has seemed to work out pretty well ever since.
I'm known for having a Lightning Overload chance of 100% during bursts with Power Infusion :D
Nihilum Arena PvP forum
To go with the official announcement of our Arena Team we've decided to expand our current forum with a PvP section, but on top of discussing PvP in general you'll be able to ask our arena team specific questions about anything from lineups to help with tactics.
