Nihilum is recruiting ALL POSSIBLE CLASSES (T6 & Sunwell gear level+) for progress raids, WotLK and more. If you want to play with the best, take a lookie here!

IF YOU THINK YOUR GUILD IS SHIT, READ THIS!

Tired of farming millions of pots when your guildmates don’t use any? Being there for raids 100% when others are perma slacking? Banging your head on a wall hoping the wall will lose? Then LOOK FURTHER DOWN for the application form. Please do not bother applying if you lack experience or are dressed in Karazhan gear. Our mailboxes are filled with bad applications as it is.

We are recruiting ALL POSSIBLE CLASSES (T6 & Sunwell gear+) for progress raids and more - We're especially interested in:

Flexibility: You must be prepared to raid at odd hours during progress raids, especially on weekends. This often means starting at 11 AM and ending at 3-4 AM. Be advised, if you know for sure you will not be able to attend raids at these hours, don’t bother applying. We want active people.

Attitude: We are looking for good players with confidence in their skills who will prove to be assets to our guild. We require you to be motivated and dedicated and also keep that attitude throughout long hours of wiping. Do not crack down if you receive criticism and do not fight back if you know you might be wrong. Keep your integrity and you will earn your respect in this guild as a player. If you whine like a bitch, you will get treated like a bitch.

Communication: We do NOT use Ventrilo to coordinate raiding but most of the people in the raids and even on standby are on it and use it actively. Therefore, you are expected to have a microphone and be able to verbally communicate on Vent during raids. It is not mandatory to be on Ventrilo for raids, but it is indeed recommended if you wish to know what the guild is really like. If your English is sub-par and you cannot speak on Ventrilo, you shouldn’t bother writing an application. You will most likely end up as an outsider and nobody will notice you.

Input: You should not feel afraid to give input regarding fights and non raid related situations. We always appreciate a good idea and if it truly is good, even apply it. If you have other talents, like coding and design skills, don’t be afraid to offer to help, an extra hand never hurt anyone.

Excel: Be on top of your game always, don’t hesitate to pop a mana potion on trash if it’s gonna help you outheal one of our current members. Make a good impression and it will last. Show the raid that you are better and more dedicated than them and you will stand out as a player. If you are on par with our members, seniority will kick in and you don’t want that. Being content with mediocrity will only earn you a spot on the bench. Bring your A-game to every raid, be it Sunwell or Zul’Aman.

Stability: Nihilum is one of the most stable raiding environments you will come across, if you wish to be part of a rock solid community of good players with common goals, this is the guild for you.
Tolerance: The popular belief is that you will get insta-kicked if you make a mistake. This is not the case at all, people always get a second chance. Learn from your mistakes and try not to repeat them. Kicking will only occur in the most disastrous of situations. We are looking for players who PERFORM, your gear does not play a higher role than skills, so even if you don't have every Sunwell or BT item, you should still consider applying if you think your skills will outweigh the lack of perfect gear.

Social aspect: Despite popular rumours that Nihilum is a stone cold group of hardcore nerds dedicated to plowing content without any regards to the social aspect of the game, the truth is completely different.
Outside raids and even during them, we often hang out on Ventrilo and discuss issues, crack jokes or whine. We have a dedicated alt/friends guild your alts can be part of. We often do heroics and kara/za raids with alts for fun and gear and, if you’re into that, there’s plenty to go around. Additionally, we help out guildmates with various problems or rep grinds they need for PvE purposes. We also have yearly IRL meetings which you are always welcome to attend if you pass your trial and earn your spot in the guild.

If you prove to be a valuable player, you will be a part of the WotLK raiding core. We are not mass recruiting people to have on the bench but to actively participate in raids. Don’t be afraid to apply if you still want to play in WotLK, there will be much to do.

As you all know there won't be any new progress raids until WotLK. But that doesn't mean that we will stop raiding. We are gonna continue raiding Sunwell every week until WotLK is out. Our main goal the upcoming months is to gear up to the max and get a really strong core raid group. We do not want a bunch of slackers with 75% attendance, that won't get us a single world first in WotLK. We need 25-35 CORE members with 100% attendance that will skip birthdays and family dinners to get WORLD FIRSTS. We're not gonna make the same mistake as we did in Sunwell again. If someone isn't good enough or does not have 100% attendance then we don't want you in the guild and we'll do our best to recruit someone to take your spot. Nihilum is not a friends and family guild, but a fight for survival of the fittest.

That being said, we are looking forward to hearing from people interested in playing at the highest level. Take the time to write a well thought out application if you remotely care about how people will perceive you. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask us on IRC, preferably not in game.

Obviously, some sort of guild revolution happened and I don't believe that Neg was the only one leaving although I don't keep track of all Nihilum members.

As Kungen said, they are trying to sort this out and get Mu'ru down (not trying as hard as they could) before Kil'Jaeden's gate opens in order to still get the world first on him.

We should've "massrecruited" before sunwell even, just that it took this long time for us to to really understand the impact of our lacking raidforce. It's not easy to see whos skilled and whos not when just doing farminstances like black temple and hyjal for the 82176347463 time. Also we've had too few of certain classes, mainly shamans, wich has left our raid crippled especially during M'uru when Bananeen but also ghorok has been afk at important raiddays. (not blaming them though)

But make no mistake, we ARE taking charge of this situation and are putting full focus on finding the last players that we need to achieve our goal. We got Twins world first, we lost M'uru world fist, now it's one boss left, the most important one, and we are 100% motivated.

We really need good restoshamans, so if you are one, DO NOT HESITATE, apply today!

I'd also just like to add, NOT as an excuse, but as a small insight into how our raids has been, that Kungen found out the final tactic that works on M'uru, after just a couple of hours trying the boss Last wednesday, if not less.

But analyzing our wipes as kungen and the classleaders has done, it's been only 2 types of reasons. Individual mistakes - and bad raidsetup. And both these reasons are also reasons to recruit new blood.

It's my personal opinion, that SK really deserved world first on M'uru - and we did not. Not with the raidperformance we have had. And I know most players in Nihilum straightforward congratulated Sk to a well deserved world first on M'uru. Nothing i write here is meant to even slightly try to take away that.

With that being said, Kungen and the classleaders of Nihilum KNOWS what needs to be done to get KJ world first and thats exactly what we are going to do.

The KJ race will be exciting for sure.

@#42: Of course there were deeper changes in Nihilum lately. I don't know how many quit and how many were kicked, but you can see the absence of Neg, Tharghan, Shephirot, Feelbest, Mylina or Eraddar (I guess that BJ and probably Hath went semicasual).

I concur, Rulah is the only Druid who knows his class from top to bottom, so to speak.

Marilyn is ok, but I don't think he handles himself well under stress, Rulah has always been an inspiration to all of us. I would've liked to see him as CL.

Nothing could be further from the truth, we had to keep him cause basicly we've never had a really good feral in nihilum. But its nice to see some finnish stroking ^^

#55 well I wouldnt put it that way, neg was the only one we've always used cause shamans just rock in pve. feelbest, mylina, erradar and shep were kicked either cause of low skill or slacking. Tharghan quit a few days ago cause he got married.

Well you learn from your mistakes, maybe you should keep a slightly larger raiding force so you can experiment a little bit more with the setup for different bosses. Hope you can recruit some skilled players.

Epi, I think Tharghan was also the one you've always used, so that makes two major players missing (both being raid healers, which kinda hurts).
