Blizzard Mass-Ban Bot Users

In every game, a few people will always try to take the easy way around. This is also the case in World of Warcraft. According to rumours and forums, it seems like Blizzard has sent out bans to 56,000 players who have used the 3rd-party program glider.

Glider is a tool that plays World of Warcraft for the player who uses it. It is commonly used by gold selling companies or people who do not have the time or motivation to play. The reason Blizzard send out bans to people who are using this program is because it is against their Terms of Use.

Terms of Use

You agree that you will not modify or cause to be modified any files that are a part of the Program or the Service; create or use cheats, bots, "mods", and/or hacks, or any other third-party software designed to modify the World of Warcraft experience; or use any third-party software that intercepts, "mines", or otherwise collects information from or through the Program or the Service. Notwithstanding the foregoing, you may update the Program with authorized patches and updates distributed by Blizzard, and Blizzard may, at its sole and absolute discretion, allow the use of certain third party user interfaces.

#4 No your not right, this time, you are not right.

I am one of the banned one's, yes shame on me, but there is no way im starting again. People don't start botting if the care to much about there account, especially ous who played by hand and completly legal for 4 years. I have hand lvld 2 70's and i dont see the point of doing all the that lvling stuff again, cause that would be another problem to my addiction, if i lvld another character i would have to let school go in second hand, witch wasent preferable.

I know, you all make it look like we who use farmbot are the nasty ones in Wow, but no we are'nt. Your best ingame friend might even bot, it's nothing we talk about if i don't know they are OK with something like that.

I don't like botters myself, but there comes a time when we all have to face the fact... We play to much Wow, if you don't do, you wont reroll eather. And dont give me that comment "cuz u sux lvling". No i dont, i know exactly how to do, but i dont wanna spend that time again... not again...

Even some posts above me might be people that bot. I've said it like this, if it doesnt ruin the game for me if somoene cheat, then its OK. It's when people start botting PvP and ruining for others its not fun. But everyone doensnt feel like me ofc.

And again, many people who were banned wont start again, both due to Age of Conan and we who spent so much time on it. I actually thought like this when i bought farmbot "If i dont get banned its really nice and ill trying to raid some TBC content, if i get banned im just quiting and picking it up for Wotlk or not at all since that would give me time for more IRL life".

I think most people who buy glider do that. You dont buy bot if i really care so much about getting banned. People on EU servers (that dont bot retared) dont usually get banned, just in these big banwaves.

But in some way we deserv it, cause its cheating and it would be good if it wasent stopped in some way. Putting limits is important.
See it like this, blizzard loose players or players who got banned buy new accounts and bot again. This is not really the right way to stop cheating.

And im REALLY and i mean REALLY against Goldselling and Acc-selling. This is one of the worst things in Wow. I can be OK with getting banned if gold selling and acc-selling is going to end.

EDIT: 56k people werent banned, i think its more tbh, its just 56k EU side. Then we got US... I think someone on the REAL GLIDER FORUM mentioned it was 200k-350k, witch is a sick amount.

In my opinion...Blizzard is stupid and risking there lives. I'm a very cynical person and I honestly don't trust other people. They're insane, and they're dangerous. Blizzard employees better have some good security, otherwise some crazy Botter is gonna cap Metzen in the head one day. You laugh at that but think long and hard about people killed for stupider reasons everyday.

Also...I don't get why ban them at all. They don't bother me, who are they actually bothering?

And I dont get how you can say it will kill them, how is it gonna kill them ? they are going after their rules god damit - if you wont accept it then gtfo this game.

well one way they could prolly get rid of a few of the botters, would be to yet again copy a greeat feature from one of the older games, in Dark age of camelot, when you had a max lvl char, wich was lvl 50, you would be able to do a /level command ingame and thus get free to lvl 20, ofc in wow it should prolly be around lvl 40 or so seeing as we soon will have a max of lvl 80, it would make it way more easy to get into starting a new char and such, ofc there is always people who will say, just do it the right way, and if you dont want to, you dont want that char bad enough or something like that. but one of the things that keeps me from making any new chars, is infact that i REALLY dont wanna go through all those lvls again, from around lvl 50 or so it starts to be okay, and then there isnt long till you reach outland, and some of the newer content.

#17 well ofc that kind of botting is annoying, but i think hes refering to the botters who just lvl with glider, wich i think is what most people think of when refering to bots

i to got banned, im just sad that they banned both my accounts, seeing that i only botted on one account.

but actually, think of a wow game without botters, think how expensive everything will get, how long BG queues there will be and so on. i ain't trying to justify what we have done, just trying to get those "OMFG CHEATER U DESERVED IT, I HATE U" to actually see that there is actually some good things about botters.
