The Naxxramas Thread - Kungen Answers! Hi all,
Kungen, our mighty Guild Leader, will be answering ANY questions about Naxxramas, as long as they're not about the tactics used (as such).
We're doing this to kill all the false chatter and rumors going around, mainly talking about Kel'Thuzad here though.
If you have a question, then ask it here, by replying to this thread. Kungen will then select your answers, c/p them into this post, and reply with a answer.
Lets begin:
"Does Grounding Totem work on Kel'Thuzad" No, it doesn't - we didn't have a single Grounding Totem dropped the entire fight
"Who was the hardest boss for you guys in nax? Seemed like you burned through kel' thuzad pretty fast." Alot of bosses were hard due to our server being a piece of shit server. But without lag the hardest boss is Kel'thuzad by FAR, he's at another level then all other bosses in the game. Loatheb - Horsemen - Saphiron all died on the first try when we had the right setup and flasked raid. On kel'thuzad we failed for 4 hours with a flasked raid (80 flasks used) and when we popped another 40 and he despawned. Then we got him on first try after the maintenance with a flasked raid. All bosses are on complete farm status atm beside Kel'thuzad.
"are u guys going to realseas a vid on 4H sapph or kel sumtime soon?" Atm we only have a Kel'thuzad video and we'll release it the day some other guild spoil the encounter with a video.
"In your opinion what would you say is the easiest -> hardest bosses, and what mobs are they comprable actually to?" We'll it's pretty much like this, first bosses at each wing = easy, 2nd = easy 3rd/4th = fairly hard and frostwyrm lair = Very hard
"How about totems, shamans and general raiding balance during the last three bosses? Is it possible to utilize totems at all in these 3 encounters?" Totems are pretty much useless on all encounters where the raid gotta move around (that being horsemen), but on saphiron and kel'thuzad they are fairly useful but you can't compare them to blessings.
"Approximately how long is the Kel'Thuzad fight and also how much HP does he have On a scale from Lucifron to the Twins (Or any oher boss with a huge amount of hit points):P" I honestly dont have a clue about his hp, it doesn't really matter much. Kel'thuzad is all about control and dps doesn't matter that much. I would say the fight takes about 12-18 minutes (Our first kill was around 16).
"Some weeks after naxx was released, u didn't updated ur dkp. Was it not to let other guilds see how u were stuffing ur raid?" We changed dkp system and it's on another server/webpage
"Do you (gl/officers/guild) have conversations with GMs and Blizzard developers that the rest of us don't have? Regarding maybe how/if an encounter works as intended (tm), or do they not ask for your opinions about that?" Blizzard dont give a shit about europe. But to answer your question, no never. But we would like to.
"How do you think the design of Naxxramas is from 1 to 10? How is the encounters, visual design etc. from your point of view and could Blizzard have done it better?" I've played every raiding mmorpg that exist and if you compare naxxramas to other mmorpgs and the previous WoW instances id give it a 9+, it's the best instance/raid zone ever created. If blizzard could done it better, sure everything can always improve.
"How many people did you have left alive when KT died, and were you about to wipe like on the 1%'s wipes, or was it a 'sure' kill?" We had 38 alive and 2 rebirths up all the way to 5%, then 5 people died from 5%-1% and we ended up with 33 alive when he died. It was a sure kill the last 10%.
"Also, how many tries did you have on KT before he depopped on the night of the 1% wipes? - And how many before that, after you killed Sapph? - seems like you learned the encounter in quite few actual attempts, even if some people say you had tons during those 2 evenings." We tried Kel'thuzad for about 2 hours the day we killed saphiron. Then we analyzed all logs from that day and came back with a clear strategy for the next day. On that day we managed to get him to 52% on the first try. Then it kept going better and better until we finally ended up with 2x 1% wipes. After those wipes we went for all the outside buffs in the game to secure the kill, we were 110% certain he would die...But when we came back he was despawned. When that happend we were 110% certain that US would get the first kill since they had 1 day advantage, but they failed to deliver and we killed him on the first try 1 day after our maintenance without lag. At this point we pretty much had it all down and just had to execute it and we did.
"Next week, after the reset, do you reckon you'll be able to do him without stacking as many buffs as you did on the world first kill?" Right now we can down the 13 first bosses without any flasks/outside buffs without any trouble at all. They are pretty much on the same farm status that MC is. But Saphiron and Kel'thuzad are alot harder. We might use a few flasks here and there on saphiron and Kel'thuzad to secure the kills.
