![]() | Hey. I got this annoying problem. Everytime i try to launch either wow.exe, launcher.exe or repair.exe i get runtime error. This happened after i woke up this morning after downloading the patch tonight. The comp runs XP and has recently been formated, so I doubt it's virus causing this. I also reinstalled WoW a couple of days ago, so I'd really rather not do that again. ![]() ![]() Any1 know how I can fix this? |

![]() | So I downloaded Avira AntiVir and ran a full system scan. It found over 600 threats (!) I looked as if there was a virus/trojan that f***** up all the .exe files on the computer. However, after the search all my .exe files are gone, including wow.exe, repair.exe etc. So I guess that means that I have to reinstall the game again?=((( |

![]() | I would recommend a complete system reinstall after such a widely spreaded infection. Backup the important stuff (after double checking it for any infection(s)) and reinstall windows etc.. The only way to be 100% sure you got rid of all infections. And you should make sure to install AntiVir (or an other reliable virus scanner) right from the beginning

![]() | I've done several virus searches since last night, with no virus found. So I'm installing wow again now, and will see how it works, before I do a system reinstall. I've have been doing so many of them lately, so i'd really rather make it work without formating:-) |

![]() | Please keep on topic. I also moved the topic to the general section. I also changed the title to a more fitting and searchable title (since this is not related to 3.0) And as a developer, I can easily confirm what the Technical Support dude from Blizzard wrote. The error is definitive related to a application-injection.
