| Nihilum PvE is Recruiting |

Nihilum is recruiting for the World of Warcraft PvE guild.
If you believe you've got what it takes read on... Nihilum is recruitingWe're looking for the following: Resto/Elemental/Enhancement Shamans Rogue
Mage Holy & Retri Paladins Resto & Moonkin DruidsIf your class is not listed here, feel free to apply anyway. We are always looking for talented players. Minimum requirements for us to bother reading your application:
Are you prepared?
Before even thinking about writing an application, you should know what you are applying for. Realizing this will save OUR time and YOURS. Nihilum is a guild with a long history and we are expected to live up to our name. Therefore it is vital for us to recruit players that are like-minded as ourselves and also share our goal. In short, our goal is to be the leading guild, we want to be the best and we want to win. Do you understand what this entails? Do you really want this? Are you ready to do what it takes? If you answered yes to all the above and passed the minimum requirement, feel free to apply. Now, if you want to show us that You really want this, you have to write a PROPER application. This is our first impression of you, and this impression will have the biggest impact on whether you will be granted a trial or not. So make sure to spend as much time as you can on it. If at first glance your application seems poorly and hastely written, it will be discarded. What can Nihilum offer you?
Real PvE: We offer the highest form of PvE there is. With your current "high end" guild, do you read tactics for the bosses you are about to kill in Sunwell? Are you not able to defeat the encounters before they get nerfed? Remember how Vashj used to be? Remember the "epic battle" of Hyjal with the 12 waves? Remember perfectly tuned M'uru? These are just a few examples, almost every boss from Karazhan up to and including Sunwell has been nerfed. So what we offer is a chance to see real PvE when it is at its best, unknown and difficult. Not a pathetic shade of its nerfed self. The social aspect: It's very important to us, we are not machines that only want to be the best. We are here to have fun. Luckily most of us consider being the best and gaining worldfirsts fun, but what makes it fun during farm content, during trash, during plenty of wipes, during long hours of progression is that we are a very social guild. Don't get me wrong, not social in the usual way. Most players are currently in or come from guilds where you are forced to listen to one raid leader over ventrilo, saying everything that most players should know by now over and over. If anybody tries to crack a joke over ventrilo or in the guild chat they will be silenced, "you are ruining the focus!". Not to mentioned that everybody is being forced to be nice to each other. It is quite the opposite here in Nihilum. Having fun, especially on farm content is important to make people stick around for farming. Yes, we do crack jokes that are not always political correct, while we kill bosses and yes we do sit on ventrilo and talk bullshit while we raid. If you ask most of our players that were here for Black Temple for example, they would say the only reason they were able to farm Black Temple for over a year was because of ventrilo and that the main agenda when not progressing is to have fun, especially when doing something that might be considered a chore. Stability: Nihilum is one of the most stable guilds around, on everything from raiding to guild management. We are here to stay. If you are looking for an injection of daily dramas, gquits and demotions you should seek it elsewhere. Stability combined with hardcore performance has created a rock solid guild with a huge and well developed community. This was created by players with common goals, players with the winner attitude and mentality, and we intend to keep it that way. Tolerance: Many players are too intimidated to apply, because they have heard rumors about how people get instantly gkicked for a small mistake. This is far from the truth, everybody gets a second chance, third, fourth, fifth, sixth etc. ... get the picture? You will only get kicked fast in extreme cases. What we expect, however, is that you learn from your mistakes and try not to repeat them. As long as we see you develop as a player it 's all good. Most players that have come to Nihilum said that they grew as players here and became much better than what they were when they arrived. This is because we want and have players with the winner attitude. Players who want to be the best, even among themselves. So we have a very competitive spirit, it doesn't matter if it's on trash, on farm content or on progression. This makes you push yourself, use everything you have at your disposal to get that extra edge over your fellow player, to show that you are the best. Show us that and you will get respect, it doesn't matter if you are oldschool or a new trial, we respect skills and solid performance. What does Nihilum expect from you? Stability: We offer stability and therefore we demand it in return. One thing that is extremely important is that you are available to raid at odd hours, and for long hours every time. Since you are reading this you must have answered yes to the above questions, so you know what we mean by long hours. If you think that your "mad skills or gear" might compensate for you not showing up and being 100% PREPARED, think again. You can be the best player with the best gear possible, but if you only show up 50% of the time you are useless to us. So I cannot stress this enough, really make sure that you have the time, willpower and endurance to play as much as it takes. Otherwise you will waste our time and your time. Mentality: We want players with our mentality. We want players that say, when we are wiping for long hours: "Holy shit this is extremely hardcore, haha ****, yes lets push it to the max and see how far we can go". Therefore it is important that you keep your spirit high especially during progression. If you whine too much, if you whine that it is too hard, it is impossible and that you just want to go to sleep, then you do not share the same goal. A key to any successful guild is to have players with equal and united goals. A casual guild that contains 1/3 hardcore players will eventually disband due to people not getting their needs satisfied. So you have to ask yourself what is your goal in this game? What makes this game fun for you? If you do not share our goals, you will not survive in Nihilum. Attitude: No matter who you were on your old server, who you were in your old guild, it is important to acknowledge, if you are accepted, that you are not above anybody and that the guild comes before the individual. You are ready to do anything that will benefit the guild, everything from being on standby if needed to having full consumables on. In other words, being dedicated and keeping in mind that the guild comes before the player. Raiding: We expect you to bring your A-game always. No matter what we are doing, you cannot afford to slack as a trial. The first raiding impression, just like your application is very important and lasts for quite some time. With that said, if you do perform to what is expected of you and more, you will get respect and will not have to worry about raid spots. In Nihilum, we invite the best players to the raid. So if you can show that you are better than our current players in your class, then you will get their spot. It does not matter who they are or how long they have been here. The same goes for you, if you start slacking and playing badly you will get replaced. So always be focused when raiding and it will bring you a long way. Communication: As mentioned, we do not use ventrilo for raiding purposes. Instead we use it for social purposes, however raiding information is never relayed over ventrilo. Therefore you are not obliged to be on ventrilo but it is recommendable, especially if you find our type of humor funny. With that said, we expect you to be able to think for yourself and not be so dependant on some raid leader telling you what to do every step of the fight. Now that we can expect you to think, same goes for progression and figuring out ideas of how to beat an encounter, always give your input if you honestly think it is a good idea. Abuse threshold: You need to have a high abuse threshold. The environment here is very competitive. When somebody ****s up they get flamed for it and taunted, and hopefully, that makes them learn from their mistakes and leads to not repeating them again. You should try as hard as you can to keep your record clean, because that gives you bragging rights so you can taunt and flame others that **** up. I mean one of two things happen, you either improve and become a better player or you cannot take the pressure and quit. It's a survival of the fittest. It's a healthy competition and it is fun for most, except of course if you have a bad habit of ****ing up many times on each raid. Then again, if you are that type of player you do not belong here. Wrath of the Lich King
The reason why we are still raiding is simple, we want to make a rock solid core of 25-35 players that are 100% ready for the expansion, who are ready to give it all they've got. With that said, it does not matter if you can play it extremely hardcore now. What is important is that you will go extremely hardcore for the expansion. So do not hesitate to apply even if you cannot raid hardcore for a few weeks or so, as long as it changes for WotLK. That means when the expansion hits, you want to have 100% attendance in everything, you want to level up hardcore, you want to skip dinners, family birthdays, going to the cinema with friends and so on, until progression is over. When there is nothing left to defeat, then you can focus on your real life, and you will have plenty of time to do so. So being extremely devoted and having a job, university and social life is possible as long as you can postpone some events until we get things on farm. So we will continue raiding Sunwell until the expansion is out, to make that core of players that wants that. We do not mass recruit, we do not want players on the bench. You are either good enough for the core spot or you will get kicked. That is also the reason why we are recruiting now, we want to see if you can handle Sunwell. In Sunwell everything is known, so if you cannot handle Sunwell where every small detail and strategy is known, then you will not have a chance when you have to adapt fast to unknown and changing situations for future progression content. So do you think you have what it takes? The vast majority that will read this do NOT have what it takes, and would be better of spending their time applying to another guild. However, if you still are convinced that you have what it takes, have read every point and understood it, then we look forward to reading your application. If you have any questions regarding recruitment, you should ask Bananen. Preferably over IRC and the forum, and not ingame. DO NOT use the recruitment tab under Nihilum, instead (for now) , please EMAIL your application to us (just click EMAIL and it should all be pasted automatically! - else copy+paste the application below and email it manually).
